What is a performance appraisal?

A structured and formal interaction between an employer and employee where the work performance of the employee is examined. The goals of this include the identification of employee strengths and weaknesses, and the identification of opportunities for improvement, further training and skill development. Appraisals are typically performed half yearly or yearly.

Why use performance appraisals?

Some of the reasons why you might like to perform a performance appraisal:
